Destiny 2 is all about looking good and having fun on your favorite of the three core classes. Deck out your guardian by exploiting the stash that Xur packs stash of Exotic and legendary gear each week.
Who is Xur in Destiny 2?
Xur is a seemingly tentacle-faced merchant who serves The Nine. He appears weekly in Destiny 2 selling a variety of armor and weapons for Guardians to purchase for Glimmer and/or Legendary Shards.
Guardians can also complete one quest per week for Xur to get Exotic Ciphers.
When does Xur spawn?
Xur reappears in the Destiny 2 universe every Friday at 9 AM Pacific Time/12 PM Eastern Time at one of a few locations. However, he sometimes doesn’t appear until 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern.
He despawns on the weekly Tuesday reset at 9 AM Pacific/12 PM Eastern Time.
Where does Xur spawn in Destiny 2?
Find Xur’s location each week to see what wares he has for sale. He only appears at one of three locations: Nessus, the EDZ, or the Tower. His position used to be marked, but his location is now unmarked on the map.
Xur location February 25 – May 1
This week, players can find the eldritch merchant in the European Dead Zone. Find out how to reach him there with the quick directions below.
Xur Earth location
Xur can be found in the EDZ at the Winding Cove in a cave. Follow these instructions to find him:
- Start at the shore and travel forward until you find a destroyed road.
- Veer right at the fork and follow the path until you find Fallen enemies.
- Defeat the Fallen.
- Search the cliffside for a cave entrance.
- Enter the cave and find the Fallen Skiff to also find Xur.
Xur Tower location
Finding Xur on the Tower is fairly straightforward as he is in the hanger toward the right side of the area. Follow these instructions to find him:
- From the spawn area, turn left to enter the big hanger.
- Turn left and run north toward the end of the area.
- Toward the top-left corner of the map, you will see a flight of stairs.
- Ascend the stairs to find Xur.
Xur Nessus location
Xur makes camp at the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus. Follow these instructions to find him:
- From the spawn area, take the path northward until you find a huge red tree.
- Climb the tree until you reach the branch facing southward.
- Xur should be there.
What does Xur sell?
Xur’s inventory varies from week to week, but he always sells Exotic items. All of his wares will be of a similar level to your character. You can also purchase a second Exotic Engram with an Exotic Cipher.
His inventory can include:

- “Sunburn”perk lets the weapon fire explosive rounds. It also highlights any target who takes damage from the weapon
- “Sun Blast” perk causes any eliminated target to explode in a blast of Solar Energy

- Exotic Titan Gauntlets
- “Horns of Doom” perk grants Super energy on Void melee kills. It also let melee takedowns recharge your Shield Throw while Sentinel Shield is active, extending your Super with successful hits

- “Illegally Modded Holster” perk relies on matching your Hand Cannon damage type with your subclass energy type. When they match, each hit increases damage against an enemy shot over shot. Hand Cannons also ready more quickly and have increased accuracy after switching weapons

Exotic Cipher Quest February 25 – May 1
Players can complete Xur’s Exotic Cipher quest every week. Completing it grants you an Exotic Cipher to purchase old Exotics. But be warned: if you don’t complete it before the Tuesday reset, you can’t chain them each week.
To complete the Xenology quest, Guardians need to win Gambit/Crucible matches OR finish 21 Strikes. Remember: if you want to maximize the number of Exotic Ciphers you get, complete the Xenology quest before the Tuesday reset.
